Ouachita River


The Ouachita River begins in the Ouachita Mountains near Mena, Arkansas and from there flows thru the Ouachita National Forest into Lake Hamilton - a reservoir created by Carpenter Dam. This is followed by another dam creating a reservoir called Lake Catherine. From there, the river runs freely in a southerly direction on the right side of Ouachita county and eventually down into Louisianna where it is known as the Black River.
